Tire smoke, exhaust notes, and dirt flies as the drift season comes to a close With invitations to national drifting events and a national drifting license on the line, drifters from Colorado, Texas, and Arizona converged upon Sandia Motorsports Park just west of Albuquerque for the fifth and final round of the New Mexico Drift Series. Robby Unser, of Enjuku Racing, was on hand along with series creators Gary Lang and Ben Reyes to judge control, speed, and slip angles of all competitors. RacingSouthWest.com sponsor A-J Tires was on location, serving up fresh tires for drifters to turn into molten rubber and gray-white smoke. |

The Berry father and two son team build a blue NMRA Renegade ALBUQUERQUE, NM. - - There are many ways a family can bond together. For some, it is a day at the local baseball stadium, enjoying a game, some drinks and a stadium hot dog. For others, it is a leisurely trip out into the mountains for hiking or to the nearest lake for a quiet day of family fishing.  Grassroots Drifter From motionless shell to poetry in motion ALBUQUERQUE, NM -- Every automotive enthusiast has had that one small dream in his or her head at some point: “I will have a race car one day.” For some, it is turning a daily driven car into a brute street machine. For others, the task is finding a viable vehicle that can be stripped, prepped, and transformed into that dedicated track only dream vehicle. This is the story of a shell of a car whose metamorphosis into a drifting dream has taken place in a small home garage in northeast Albuquerque. |
