WOR – Snowflake 2009 0

RacingSouthwest.com member Skyler Schmitt was nice enough to share some in-cab video of his Class 10 MC Race Buggy during the WOR – Snowflake 250 race.  The Snowflake 250 took place between Heber and Snowflake, AZ off of the 277 Highway on September 5th, 2009.

After taking forever to get registered we ended up having to prerun at night which sucks cause there was no points of reference. We still noted the real dangerous parts of the course and figured we would work the rest out taking it easy on the first couple of laps the next morning during the race. Everything was going well until about 2-1/2 laps (30 mile loop) into the race and the damn CS sprocket nut came off. MFerrrrrrr! That took us out as far as getting a decent finish. We patched up the car to get back to the pits and fix it up but we only had pliers to tighten the CS nut. We got about 5-10 miles and it came off again. So we patched it up again and got back to the pits to fix it correctly. We got that done and my wife jumped in the car. I figured she would get one lap in since it was a GP finish and the class leaders would be finishing around that time. As she got in, the rain started to pour and turned into a flash flood for the last lap. Everyone was spinning out and sliding off the course etc. It was pretty wild but we had a blast. Can’t wait to do this race again. It is the funnest place I have driven the car. Just wish we could have finished better. There was 11 class 10 cars and I felt we were pretty competitive until our problem so there is hope for next year. I just have to work through all these little issues.

In car video. First 20mins of the race.
