We have confirmed the dates for our 2010 Drift Cross schedule. For the people not familiar with the RSW Drift Cross series, it is unlike anything we’ve seen in our area. We have one track that utilizes both autocross and road course types of driving simultaneously. This caters to both types of drivers who are used to driving tight, slower tracks as well drivers who are used to driving wider, faster courses. We will also be teaming up with the SCCA organization for a couple of our dates in June and August. The SCCA events will be a slower course with more cones to add more turns. They will provide a higher level of competition along with instruction for those who need it.
This is the most affordable way to get behind the wheel on the road course at Sandia Motorsports Park.

The 2nd Annual SWMS Monster Mash
We stopped in at the Southwest Motorsports(SWMS) event to see a few cars on the road course this weekend (October 29th-31st) at the Sandia Motor Speedway in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Another successful event is in the books. The weather was great which helped give us a strong car count for the drifters. The autocross car count was down substantially, but it gave the participants plenty of track time! A few new faces made it from the Denver Colorado area and we hope to see them at future events.

When Will (“Fox”) asked me to start writing a monthly column on racing, I was really not sure what to write about and how to make it worth reading. Lets face it, I don’t have any serious experience – I’m an amateur autocrosser and run time trials when I can. If you subscribe to Doug Hayashi’s “Pyramid of Speed”, I’m not even at the top:
