Germany Invades Burque

We were able to catch up with a few German cars at the 3rd annual Germany Invades Burque car show at PS Performance in Albuquerque. The show benefits Watermelon Ranch animal rescue.

Watermelon Ranch is New Mexico’s largest “No Kill” animal shelter and relies solely on the charitable contributions of individuals and organizations. The show had a wide range of German automobiles from vintage to 2011’s.

Sandia BMW Car Show

Over 40 cars were at show for this event and there was a good turnout of car enthusiasts to check out the BMWs! Some of the more interesting cars were the Individual Package 750Li and the full line of BMW heritage.

NMORL – Off-Road Gathering

With a full day of events planned from 10am to 10pm the late March weather was very unpredictable this weekend. The morning started off with snow on the ground, but by the time the gates opened the unpredictable weather gave us a clear blue sky. With the clear sky and the warm sun the line to get in was over 100 cars around 1:00.

SQC Dyno #2

The first dyno event of the year is now behind us. With a record turnout for a New Mexico dyno event the crowd was flowing through Motiva Performance all day. Live music from DJ Hentai for the car show and a steady flow of cars on the dyno. Not bad for a February!

2010 RSW Drift Cross Schedule

We have confirmed the dates for our 2010 Drift Cross schedule. For the people not familiar with the RSW Drift Cross series, it is unlike anything we’ve seen in our area. We have one track that utilizes both autocross and road course types of driving simultaneously. This caters to both types of drivers who are used to driving tight, slower tracks as well drivers who are used to driving wider, faster courses. We will also be teaming up with the SCCA organization for a couple of our dates in June and August. The SCCA events will be a slower course with more cones to add more turns. They will provide a higher level of competition along with instruction for those who need it.

This is the most affordable way to get behind the wheel on the road course at Sandia Motorsports Park.

We divide the 1.3 mile road course in half to allow drifting and a road course portion simultaneously.

Road Course:
To keep everyone safe we add a few cones on the road course portion.

For the morning we have small run groups that will allow you to become familiar with the track and get you plenty of track time. In the afternoon we bring out our timing equipment and run one car at a time. There is always a car on the track with as little down time as possible. This allows for maximum driving experience for everyone. This might change slightly with the SCCA events, but expect plenty of track time.

Drifting:
Being able to drift on a road course for the price we offer is out of this world!! The entertainment offered for spectators is also amazing. Spectators can ride along with drifters and experience the fun of sliding sideways at up to 50mph. Drifting at these events are by far the best bang for the buck offered in central New Mexico. You can literally drift as much as you want until you have no tires left. Come out and join in the action with your own car or have an awesome time watching and getting rides with drivers.

2010 Supernationals Car Show

We dropped in for the annual Supernationals car show on the opening day. The Supernationals car show is New Mexico’s largest car show and 2010 is celebrating the 18th year.

2010 Supernational Show Hours:
Friday, January 29, 2010 – 12 noon to 10 p.m.
Saturday, January 30, 2010 – 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday, January 31, 2010 – 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Location:
Same location as always… Lujan Complex, Expo NM

We also noticed a few RSW Vendors at the show. It was great to see Yearwood Performance, Synergy Coating and Motiva Motorsports all with booths and products on display.

NMORL “Dig 100″ – Trucks

After the action packed day of off road racing the final event was the truck class. With a 20 lap 2.5 mile course the whole city of Albuquerque ended up with a haze of dust.

NMORL “Dig 100″ – Moto

We were able to catch up with the New Mexico Off Road League(NMORL) for their first event of the year. NMORL stared the morning off with the motorcycle class at 8am. The water trucks made their rounds early, but due to the cold soil the water froze. With about a 1.5hr delay Drew was still able to start the race after the ground thawed.

Subaru Rally Team USA Show

The 2009 Subaru Rally Team USA Show-Car Program is making a pit stop at the Garcia Subaru dealership here in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 19th, 20th, and 21st. Head out to the dealership to take a close up look at what the Subaru Rally Team is all about and gets some hands on with a real rally car.

Garcia Subaru is located at 8100 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87110.

What exactly is the Subaru Rally Team USA Show-Car Program and what can you expect to see at Garcia Subaru during these three days?

The display features an authentic Travis Pastrana #199 Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally car and a customized trailer featuring SPT parts, rally videos and Subaru Rally Team USA information. The customized 40ft trailer is a sight to see with the exterior fully wrapped with Subaru/Travis Pastrana graphics and the interior walls lined with SPT parts that are used on the rally car and information on these specific parts.
